In a white silk night gown designed by Truong Thanh Hai, the Vietnamese representative at the Miss Earth 2007 pageant, Truong Tri Truc Diem, won the Miss Fashion title in a special contest held in Nha Trang City last night.
Truong Tri Truc Diem is the exclusive model of HCM City-based PL Company. The Best in Ao dai title went to Brazil’s contestant, Patricia Silve Ferreira Andrade. She was picked at the last minute, replacing Miss Finland and was ill before the rehearsal and unable to take part in practice with other contestants. She was very sad to have to stay in the hotel while others prepared for last night’s contest. However, this 22-year-old beauty performed very confidently and won the Best in Ao dai prize.
Thirty contestants showed off ao dai designed by David Minh Duc. This is a collection named “Convergence of dragon and flower”, which alludes to Vietnam’s historic royal girls. European and Latin American girls were elegant and charming in ao dai, a style uniquely connected to the image of Vietnamese women. Miss Fitness belonged to Peru’s representative, Odilia Pamela Garcia Pineda, 20, at a height of 1.78m, body measurements of 90-63-91. This prize was announced after the bikini contest.
Korean Ji Eun Yoo, won the Miss Charm title for her outstanding and pure beauty. She attracted the attention of all the Vietnamese journalists during her three days in Nha Trang. The contest began with 30 beauties in their traditional wear and they introduced themselves to the audience in both English and their native languages. Vietnam’s Truc Diem wore a white silk ao dai designed by ABC, which was auctioned for $7,000 Wednesday night for charity.
